There’s a particular kind of quiet that happens when you’re out in the garden — coffee going cold, deadheading something, half paying attention to the plants and half to your own thoughts. That’s the part I never wanted an app to interrupt. But it’s also when the questions show up: is this getting enough light now that the neighbor’s tree filled back in? Should I be feeding this before it blooms, not after? What actually goes next to the salvia so the colors don’t fight each other?

I kept looking for something that could answer those questions the way a knowledgeable friend would, and kept finding dashboards instead — things that wanted me to manage my garden like a spreadsheet. So I built Cedric. Think of him as the gardener down the road who’s been doing this for fifty years — the one whose beds always look effortless, who leans over the fence with an opinion whether you asked or not, who’s seen every version of “is this normal” and has a story to go with the answer. Except he actually remembers what you’ve told him about your garden, so the tenth conversation is better than the first.

I’m building this alone — no investors, no growth team, just me working on it in the hours before and after my day job. That means it moves at a human pace, and it means every feature is here because it actually helps, not because it improves a metric. If something’s missing or wrong, tell me — I read every message myself, and I’m probably out in my own garden more often than I’m at my desk.
